The overall objective of the proposed technical assistance mission is to support Haiti in the process of revising its Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) in line with the guidelines set out in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The specific objectives are as follows:
- Strengthen the technical capacity of managers of the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communication and the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development for the revision of the NDC
- Seek consensus with relevant public and private actors on options and enhancing the ambitions of the NDC
- Enhance clarity, transparency and understanding of the information provided in the updated NDC
- Obtain the necessary political commitment to legitimize the process and the updated document
Nature and Scope of services Provided
- Analysis of national adaptation communications, strategies, plans and programmes and recommendations for mainstreaming adaptation into the NDC and building capacity
- Capacity building of the Ministry of Environment and other state entities involved in the revision of the NDC
- Participatory regional workshops
- Develop the updated version of the Nationally Determined Contribution
Deliverables
Deliverables include:
- A report of the analysis of national adaptation communications, strategies, plans and programmes and recommendations for mainstreaming adaptation into the NDC and capacity building;
- A report of the use of the EX-ACT CAM tool and ISO 14090:2019; Mitigation Cost Estimate Report and
- Workshop Report
